Multimodal surface matching with higher-order smoothness constraints
In brain imaging, accurate alignment of cortical surfaces is fundamental to the statistical sensitivity and spatial localisation of group studies, and cortical surface-based alignment has generally been accepted to be superior to volume-based approaches at aligning cortical areas. However, human subjects have considerable variation in cortical folding, and in the location of functional areas re...
متن کاملGeometrical criteria on the higher order smoothness of composite surfaces
A generalization of a theorem by Pegna and Wolter—called Linkage Curve Theorem—is presented. The new theorem provides a condition for joining two surfaces with high order geometric continuity of arbitrary degree n. It will be shown that the Linkage Curve Theorem can be generalized even for the case when the common boundary curve is only G1. 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملA Higher Order Reconstruction of Stepwise Enhancement
In the last couple of years, there has been renewed interest in systematic methods for the construction of Prolog programs, for example (Gegg-Harrison, 1995), (Kirschenbaum et al., 1996), (Sterling and Yalçinalp, 1996), and (Vasconcelos and Fuchs, 1995). This paper loosely characterises the progression of approaches that have been offered for systematic construction of logic (usually Prolog) pr...
متن کاملHigher-order phase shift reconstruction approach.
PURPOSE Biological soft tissues encountered in clinical and preclinical imaging mainly consists of atoms of light elements with low atomic numbers and their elemental composition is nearly uniform with little density variation. Hence, x-ray attenuation contrast is relatively poor and cannot achieve satisfactory sensitivity and specificity. In contrast, x-ray phase-contrast provides a new mechan...
متن کاملSystem reconstruction from higher order spectra slices
We consider the problem of system reconstruction from higher order spectra (HOS) slices. We establish that the impulse response of a complex system can be reconstructed up to a scalar and a shift based on any pair of HOS slices, as long as the distance between the two slices satisfies a certain condition. One slice is sufficient for the reconstruction in the case of a real system. We propose a ...
